Before you install
No. The on-page checks work without one. You only need an account and an API key for domain data and the optional badges on Google results.
No. The on-page audit reads the page in your browser and does not upload it. A domain lookup sends only the domain name. If you run the broken-link checker, your browser requests up to 20 external links from the page.
Authority is 1 credit. Backlinks, referring domains, anchor text and tech stack are 2 credits each. A domain is billed once, then cached in your browser for 24 hours.
Only if you turn on the optional features, the badges on Google results or the metrics bar. They are controlled in Options, where you can also exclude domains.
